Why do we use this Measure?

Participating in the decision-making processes should give people a better understanding of the issues involved and provides an incentive for people to help determine the future of their communities and contribute to realising that future

Explanation of measure

The measure is an estimate derived from the General Social Survey. It is the estimate of the proportion of the Tasmanian population aged 18 or more who participated in a decision-making processes. This draft benchmark is currently being developed by the Progress Board. Draft targets have been established and recommendations to complete the benchmark will be put to Parliament for approval later this year.
