Explanation of measure

The measure is calculated from a count of Mental Health clients recorded as having at least one active service episode recorded in the Mental Health and Statewide Services reporting database during a calendar year, divided by the total Tasmanian population. The resultant figure is expressed as a percentage of the estimated 3% of the population considered to have a serious mental illness during that period.
