During the year 1999-2000, an estimated 13.7% of the population aged 15 to 64 enrolled in a public vocational or higher education course.

Why do we use this Measure?

Post-compulsory education is important for economic growth. Tasmania has traditionally had low participation rates in tertiary and higher education.

Explanation of measure

The measure is derived by combining public system VET and University of Tasmania enrolment counts. It is calculated using ABS population data for Tasmanians aged 15 to 64.
