A decline in the proportion of households relying on pensions and welfare payments should reflect a higher degree of economic independence
The measure is the proportion of all Tasmanian households where government pensions or allowances contribute 50% or more of gross income. The proportion is estimated from responses to sample surveys of Tasmanian households. More information is available from the ABS source publication.
