Why do we use this Measure?

Reserve systems are one measure of the extent to which we are conserving and protecting natural and physical resources including: wilderness/national parks; forests; minerals; agricultural lands; fisheries; wetlands; biodiversity; flora and fauna

Explanation of measure

The measure is the proportion of the land area of Tasmania subject to reservation as at the end of a selected month in a year.
