The three year rolling annual average growth in the number of small businesses operating in Tasmania from 2004 to 2006 was 1.9%. This compared with national growth of 1.6% for the same period.

Explanation of measure

The measure is based on counts of businesses as at 1 June, sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics business register. It is the 3-year rolling annual average growth in the number of small businesses. The 3-year growth for Tasmanian small businesses is compared with national growth for the same period.
