Why do we use this Measure?

Under-employment can have social and economic implications for both the individual and the broader community.

Explanation of measure

The measures are trend estimates from the labour force survey conducted by the ABS. The estimate is the number of persons who are employed part-time and want to work more hours, as a proportion of all employed persons.
